Allison McCarson was born and raised in Kernersville, North Carolina. She and her family recently relocated from Germany to Colorado Springs. She joined Associates in Obstetrics and Gynecology as a Nurse Midwife/Nurse Practitioner in October 2016.

Allison completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at East Carolina University in 1997, prior to serving four years as an officer in the Army Nurse Corps. Upon completion of military service, Allison attended SUNY Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York, completing a Master’s Degree in Nurse Midwifery in 2004. In 2009, Allison completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of South Alabama, integrating evidence based medicine and translational research into her midwifery practice. Allison has been involved in Women’s Health Medicine for 20 years, caring for women in labor and delivery, postpartum, and within the clinic setting.

Allison has a passion for Women’s Health across the lifespan to include not only adolescent and obstetrical care, but also gynecology and menopausal transition as well. She has travelled the world as a military spouse and provider in military medicine, having the unique opportunity to practice in various clinics and settings, working with doctors and surgeons of vast backgrounds. She enjoys education, health maintenance and prevention, helping women to be proactive in their health and health care.

After traveling the world for 20 years, the McCarsons are thrilled to settle in Colorado and call Colorado Springs home. Allison, and her husband Michael, have two teenage children and one spunky little dog. The family enjoys exploring new areas, hiking, sporting events and relaxing at home.
